If there is one specific style of extreme metal that has really caught a hold of me over the last years, it’s cavernous death metal. Real fucking’ death metal, played with passion and with the intent of not giving a shit about being the fastest, the most technical or the most progressive. It’s about taking the style back to its roots when the riffs were all that mattered. Triumvir Foul is another one of these cavernous death metal bands that have started popping up. Their style is very much in the same vein as Cruciamentum, Dead Congregation or Incantation. Formed by the two members of the atmospheric black metal band Ash Borer you might think that it should be more atmospheric or progressive considering the style of Ash Borer, but fear not.
